Hello My Dear Friend. With the holidays, it brings many challenges for me, one of them being organization. Even though I don’t have an outside to organize, I still have a storage area in the garage of my building that does not have anything in it. I am trying to find a nice sized shed, not too expensive and that has been what has prevented me from getting my “Organization Game” On.

Your patio isn’t just an outdoor space; it’s prime real estate, even when you’re thinking of selling your home. First off, let’s designate specific zones for different activities – a dedicated spot for gardening tools, a cozy corner for outdoor cushions, and perhaps a storage box for the kids’ toys. Regular tidying sessions are your new best friend. Spend just a few minutes each day or week giving your patio a quick once-over; it makes a world of difference. And hey, don’t hesitate to involve the family in this upkeep routine! Encourage everyone to pitch in and return items to their designated spots after use. Lastly, invest in some smart storage solutions that suit your style – whether it’s chic baskets, shelves, or weather-resistant containers, they’ll keep things organized and add a touch of charm to your outdoor haven. With a little effort and these easy tricks, maintaining your beautifully organized patio will be a breeze!”

Create A Designated Storage Area

Vertical space is such a valuable asset, especially when you organize the outside of your home. Not all of us have the ground capacity to store everything we need and in such cases wall space provides that extra storage.
To utilize vertical space, look for a wall big and empty enough to install wall storage options such as hooks, racks or shelves. These can be used to hang tools, bikes, or you can even create a mini-garden by attaching planters. 
For  those of us who are sequestered inside due to weather conditions, there is also an alternative to this gardening fix that you may be needing. Windowsill Gardening with herbs and spices. It’s a Win-Win solution;  you’re getting your garden-fix and eating, fresh delicious herbs and spices, 

Create different zones

Just like how you have different areas for different activities inside your home, it’s important to create designated zones outside as well. For example, create a zone for your kids where they can play and keep their toys, a zone for outdoor dining and entertainment, and a zone for all of your gardening equipment.
A designated zone for everything will prevent items from being scattered and misplaced, making it easier for you to find what you need when you need it. 

Invest In Storage Solutions

There are plenty of clever storage solutions available on the market that can help you organize your exterior items in an organized manner. Here are a few examples: 

  • Hose reels: a garden hose lying around can be a tripping hazard. A hose reel is a smart solution to keep it safe and organized. 
  • Foldable chairs: if you have limited space for outdoor seating, invest in foldable chairs. They can be easily stored away when not in use. 
  • Outdoor storage bins: storage bins are usually waterproof, making them perfect for storing gardening tools or kids’ toys. These bins keep the items safe from rain and other elements while still being easily accessible.
