Is it one of those weeks that between family and work responsibilities, you think you are “losing your mind”?
With that being said, it can be easy to forget to take some time out of the week (or day) for ourselves.
I love having my arsenal of at-home Spa Day Recipes close at hand. After the week I had I didn’t just walk over and get them I ran, did you hear me I RAN to get these recipes. LOL
Saying that this is a stressful time is an understatement. It is stressful both in mind and body.
So today I thought I would share some things I have learned In the hopes that it will give you some inner peace. I have covered ALL bases and then some… Some are reallly really GOOD! You be the Judge…let me know what was Your FAVORITE!
When stress strikes, self-care takes a backseat…. during any stressful period in our lives, we tend to focus on all the things going on around us.
Taking the time to dote on ourselves is more important than ever. I know what you’re thinking, it’s just another added thing to my list. But believe me this is one you want to put on your list. This will help with mental clarity and more importantly your sanity. At times, I believe has left the building.LOL. I know mine has …… I thought I would put together a few things that have helped me and I know can help you slow the pace down.
This takes practice and don’t be discouraged if your attention span is short. We’re trying to train ourselves to slow down. However long you can hold these thoughts, counts.
It is the little steps that lead to our accomplishments. “You’ve got this My Friend!”
1. Find A Comfortable Seat
2. Sit Still
This sounds easy but I know at times it is hard to do. You can do it sitting in a chair, on the floor or even while soaking in the tub. Ahhhhh. Now close your eyes.
3. Still the MIND
Let your mind go blank. This one is a hard one, but you can do it! Even if you can only do this for 5 minutes today and increase it as you continue to practice. Practice! Practice!
Let’s Get This Spa Started . .. .
This next part ends up being the best part and the most relaxing. Trust me….
Margarita Body Scrub
- 1 cup coconut oil
- ¼ tsp avocado oil
- 1 Zest lime
- 1 juice lime
- ½ cup sea salt coarse
- ¼ cup himalayan rock salt
- ¼ cup sugar granulated
- 1 Ounce tequila your choice
- Mix all indgredients together. Store in air tight container.
- 3 shots tequila
- 2 shots orange flavored liqueur
- 1 juice lime
- 1 wedge lime
- 1 cup coarse salt
Shake indgredients vigorously.
- Moisten the rim of the glass with lime
- Turn glass over into coarse salt. Spin glass to run salt on rim.
- Fill glass with ice cubes
- Pour mixed margarita into glass
- Garish with Lime Slice
Pina Colada Foot Soak
- 1 can coconut milk
- 2 drops coconut oil
- 1 drop vanilla fragrance oil
- ½ cup shredded coconut
- Fill basin large enough to place both feet in. As is or warm if desired. Soak feet for 10 or so minutes, Massage into feet to gently exfoliate. Use a foot brush if desired. Rinse.
- 2 shots Bacardi White Rum
- 1 ½ cup fresh Coconut water
- 4 Chunks Pineapple fresh
- 1 cup Pineapple juice
- 2 tsp Sugar granulated
- Mix ingredients in blender until smooth; pour into glasses; garnish with pineapple wedges and maraschino cherries if desired.
