Cranberry Shortbread Stars

The star shape is a festive addition to my holiday cookie tray. —

  • 1 cup Butter-softened
  • ¾ cup Confectioners Sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups All-Pupose Flour
  • ½ cup Dri d Cranberris-finely Chopped


  • In a large bowl, beat butter, confectioners sugar and salt until blended. Beat in vanilla. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in the cranberries.
  • Shape dough into a disk: wrap in plastic. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until firm enough to roll.
  • Pre-heat oven to 325°. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into 1/4” thickness. Cut with a floured 2” star shaped cookie cutter. Place 1 inch apart on a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Remove from pans to wire rack to cool.


This will surely be enjoyed both by the young as well as the older family members. Not a hard recipe and not time-consuming.

Tipsy Grinch Punch

  • 3 oz Curaçao Liquer
  • 12 oz Orange Juice

Holly Fudge

  • 1 Tbsp Butter (Grease baking dish/ parchment paper)
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • ½ cup Butter (1Stick)
  • ½ cup Heavy Cream
  • tsp Salt
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup Red candied cherries (Finely Chopped)
  • ¼ cup Green candid cherries (Finely Chopped)
  • 1 tsp Powdered Sugar


  • Greece an 8” Square baking dish with butter.
  • Line with parchment paper so the ends extend over the edges of the dish
  • Grease parchment paper with butter
  • In a large sauce pan, bring sugar, butter, heavy cream and salt to a boil stir frequently
  • Allowed to boil five minutes stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat and add powdered sugar 1/4 at a time
  • Stir into mixture before adding more

  • Add vanilla and stir to fully combine

  • Toss chopped cherry with 1 teaspoon powdered sugar and stir into the mixture until fully distributed
  • Spoon mixture into the prepared baking dish and refrigerator 1 Hr.


Cut into 36 squares and serve. Keep refrigerated.

Hot Chocolate


  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2 ¼ cups cocoa
  • 1 Tbsp table salt
  • Whole Milk


  • In a large bowl, combine sugar cocoa, cocoa and salt. Whisk to combine well. Store in an air tight container.
  • For individual servings, pour 1 cup whole milk into a microwave-safe mug and microwave on high just until hot. Add 2 tablespoons of cocoa mix and stir till dissolved.
  • for a Larger Batch of cocoa, warm the milk up in a saucepan and set over medioum heat- low heat, taking care not to let the milk boil; as it warms... stir in 2 tablespoons of mix for each cup of milk.


Side Note:
Pre Warm mugs with Hot Water to keep Hot Chocolate “Hot”
