Here’s a pro tip: Trader Joe’s not only offers budget-friendly blooms, but you can also give them a call and place your order in advance! “Let’s not forget the charm of all of the Seasos!”
If you want to add a touch of magic to your floral creations, step outdoors and gather a couple of cuttings. Nature has its way of painting the most gorgeous palette during all of the seasons, and incorporating these rustic, earthy elements will instantly warm up your arrangements. Imagine the cozy hues of deep pinks, warm yellows, and rustic greens enhancing your Trader Joe’s flowers. It’s like bringing a piece of the sunshine right into your home. So, let’s get creative and let the season vibes inspire our floral adventures!”
3. Candles
Absolutely—candles are one of the easiest ways to elevate a space. They add a warm glow, feel instantly intentional, and they’re an affordable decor upgrade that can make a room feel finished. Scent matters, too: choose fragrances that complement the mood you want—think fresh and clean, soft and relaxing, or cozy and comforting. Picture walking into a room, lighting a candle, and having the whole space feel more inviting in seconds.
If you’re not into burning candles there is an alternative, faux candles? Do you have come along way to being so real lIke it is hard to tell the difference. If they could only come up with them smelling like a candle. Oh well, I’m sure somebody’s working on that as we speak. LOL. These are so user-friendly with even remote controls so the possibilities are endless. You can place them almost anywhere. They will require batteries but those are inexpensive as well.
It’s amazing how far faux candles have come—today’s versions look convincingly real and give you the same cozy glow without the worry of an open flame. Many are incredibly easy to use (some even come with timers or remote controls), which makes it simple to create a warm atmosphere with minimal effort. Style them anywhere you’d place a traditional candle—on a coffee table, a bathroom tray, built-ins, or a mantel—and group a few in varying heights for an elevated, layered look. They do require batteries, but replacements are inexpensive and easy to find—small tradeoff for a beautiful, low-maintenance ambience.

4. Drapes
Your best choice to balance the room is to choose a lighter drapery, if possible. A lighter drapery and a neutral color will balance all of your Décor items in a room. You can get really beautiful and simple sheer drapery on any budget.
Drapery at the proper height is an important factor, the proper height, well give any room a finished look. It will also make the room seem larger. Try it…
Note:
Placing them 4”- 6” above the window frame is a “good rule of thumb”.
Also, drapery should be at least 2 1/2 times the width of the actual window.
This allows fullness of the fabric.

Note:
Choosing the proper lightbulbs also has an effect on the ambience of that room.
Going to stores like Home Depot and Lowe’s is a good idea for their displays of lightbulbs. It will show you how bright or how dim they are.
Are you trying to achieve daylight or mood lighting.
9. Mirrors
A common question I get asked is, why do I need a mirror in a room? The short answer is, it is a statement piece.
A mirror can create a feeling of spaciousness. Where are you place it is a important part of how the room will appear. It is a reflection and we want that reflection to show the beauty of the room.
Mirrors will also add depth to any size room. If your space is on the Small it will give the illusion of a larger space. Have fun when choosing your frame, there are so many choices out there. Be Creative.
The cost can range from very affordable to quite costly.
Don’t be afraid to look on Facebook marketplace, there are many great deals to be had.
I have found several mirrors to buy as well as several I have sold. Check it out.
10. Gallery Wall Art
This is a misleading term; today it is not only about art but Baskets, hats and even plates. The possibilities are endless for your room. Another great idea is to use family photos in black and white. It is a great conversation piece for family and friends who visit.

Decorating A Wall Quick Tips:
Again, less is best here as well. Let’s recap the things that we have spoken about above.
Here is what your wall will have.
- Mirror
- Shelf (if you have one)
- Wall Art
- Baskets
- Plates
- Framed Quotes or just a Word
If you are more of a minimalist, you can choose to use in one large statement piece (Large Art work, maybe with a light above it).
It is your room, and definately your Personality. It is not necessary to have all of these elements on your wall.
11. Decorative Throw Pillows
These to me are a game changer. Assorted decorative throw pillows are one of the simplest ways to add color and decorate a room on a budget. These are also seasonal, stylish and there are so many choices. As an example, see below:
Purchasing a New Pillows: Average cost $20-$50 per Pillow (ouch)
Pillow Cover: Best places for shopping, I find are at, Amazon, Target, Walmart and even Etsy. You can pick up covers in the price range of $15-$20. Most times the Shipping is Free.
12. Baskets
Here’s another area that I just can’t seem to get enough of and mainly because Baskets are so affordable.
They are easy to store and are lightweight. Some are even good for DIY simple projects. NEW LIFE…..
Keeping a room clean and organized, baskets are your answer.
NOTE: Be careful of what you put in it that you don’t end up like me . . . I can’t remember what I put in there. So to help with that you can add Tags. There are so many choices for labels and tags in the stores or online.
Another great storage idea for baskets would be your throw pillows and/or extra throws. Theses are two things you can never have enough of. Let’s talk about children’s toys, that is another alternative to keeping a tidy space. I have picked up many beautiful and inexpensive baskets at Walmart. IKEA is another inexpensive alternative.
You don’t have to spend a lot of money and shopping for these baskets is always …… FUN!
13. Get Personal

Personal items help to make a room feel comfortable and definitely show your personality. Mixing Personal as well as new decor gives the room character. It is also a conversation starter. Depending upon what you put in the room.

Depending upon what you put in the room. Think old mixed in with new decor instantly gives you a timeless well designed look.
When visitors come they will say “this house is soooo you”.
14. Books
Refresh your space with books you already own by turning them into intentional decor. Sort by color for a light, airy spring look, or group by tone (creams, tans, soft blues, and greens) to keep things calm and cohesive. Stack a few larger hardcovers horizontally to create height for a small plant, candle, or framed photo, and stand a few favorites upright as simple bookends on a shelf or console. If you want the biggest impact on a budget, remove (and donate) the titles you no longer love, then restyle what remains with a little breathing room so your collection feels curated—not crowded.
15. Trays
A tray is one of the easiest “budget refresh” tools because it instantly makes everyday items look styled and keeps surfaces tidy. Shop your home first—serving trays, thrifted finds, or even a large plate can work—and use it to corral a few essentials on a coffee table, ottoman, bedside table, or bathroom counter. For spring/summer, aim for lighter materials and textures (woven, rattan-look, light wood, or white ceramic) and keep it simple: one small vase or bud vessel, a candle, and a practical item like coasters or hand cream. The trick is to edit down to a few pieces and vary heights, so the tray looks collected on purpose rather than like a catch-all.
Conclusion
As we wrap up our delightful journey through fall-inspired home decor, remember that your home is a canvas, waiting for your personal touch to transform it into a cozy haven. By infusing elements of fall, from warm colors to cherished heirlooms and creative crafts, you’re not just decorating a space; you’re crafting a story, a reflection of your personality and the beautiful memories you hold dear.
So, embrace the magic of fall, let your creativity flow, and watch as your home comes alive with the spirit of the season. Here’s to a home that’s not just beautifully adorned, but also warmly inviting, filled with the essence of fall, and most importantly, uniquely yours. Happy decorating!
