Cranberry Shortbread Stars

The star shape is a festive addition to my holiday cookie tray. —

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Butter-softened
  • ¾ cup Confectioners Sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups All-Pupose Flour
  • ½ cup Dri d Cranberris-finely Chopped

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, beat butter, confectioners sugar and salt until blended. Beat in vanilla. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in the cranberries.
  • Shape dough into a disk: wrap in plastic. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until firm enough to roll.
  • Pre-heat oven to 325°. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into 1/4” thickness. Cut with a floured 2” star shaped cookie cutter. Place 1 inch apart on a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Remove from pans to wire rack to cool.

Notes

This will surely be enjoyed both by the young as well as the older family members. Not a hard recipe and not time-consuming.
