The Tipperary

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Oz PART GREEN CHARTREUSE
  • 1 PIECE GREEN OLIVE
  • ICE CUBES
  • 1 1 oz ITALIAN VERMOUTH
  • 1 Oz JAMESON ORIGINAL

Instructions
 

  • Stir all the ingredients well in a mixing glass with ice. Once you’re happy with the taste, strain into a chilled coupe glass, add a green olive and enjoy!

The story behind this elegant drink, which first appeared in Hugo R. Ensslin’s 1917 book, Recipes for Mixed Drinks, is that a guest walked in, asked for a drink, and was humming the song “It’s a Long Road to Tipperary,” which was an anthem for homesick Irish soldiers in the British army during World War I.
